This is your friendly reminder that Volkswagen engineers once stuffed a v10 turbo diesel into a family SUV.
Just in case you need to pull an airplane. Or a beached semi truck:
Personally, I think I’d pass on the transmission abuse and stick to spinning around in circles, making strange low-rpm V10 noises.

There is also a video out there somewhere that had an elephant towing a plane VS a group of little people. Jumbo jet tug of war.
+1 for sure on the ice hooning!

That black 2006 is so perfect though. I must resist the urge...

Now THAT sounds ridiculous. And yep snow hoonage is pretty much the only thing us Northerners have to look forward to for the next 5 months lol.

The interor is incredible, especially for a 2008 Volkswagen. I’m smitten. It’s essentially a lifted Phaeton IMO

That black one with the caramel seats is delicious.

So delicious. Unusual interior colors are the best and those seats look outrageously comfortable.

My friend has a 2007 TDI, though not the V10. We actually took it from New York, to Washington state, down to LA, and back last summer and it really is a spectacular SUV.

I bet that was incredible. AND you did it in a Jalop worthy car. I'm dying to do the classic USA road trip and I hope I do it in something interesting.

Be warned, servicing those things is stupidly difficult and they aren’t the most reliable cars. The o2 sensors are too close to the exhaust so it fires them and low quality diesel fucks it up. Plus a lot of minor things like replacing the starter require pulling out the entire engine and transmission

Lol sorry, “They” was a vague term for VAG - it’s the Q7 V12 TDI.

I was flying down a twisty country road the other day in the MR2 when I passed one of these going the other direction. Made me very happy.
